MAC Lipstick in Impassioned Amplified Creme Review

Since the weather turned gloomy, my makeup application left altogether with the sun. Nevertheless, I ate what I wrote about this MAC lipstick in Impassioned. I've been reaching for it quite often since I started skipping my makeup routine. I found out that it's a rock-star lippie that anyone can pull off without applying too much makeup. Heck I can apply it and I'm good to go.

Migs bought this tube from Macy's in Ohio last July for $16 (PHP 600-700). It's from the Amplified collection which is my favorite of all MAC collections. The tube is the usual bullet tubes for MAC lippies, nothing special. I'm just amazed on how cheaper MAC lippies are in the U.S. as compared to the hefty PHP 1,000 (almost $23) price tag here in the Philippines.

MAC Satin Lipstick in Rebel: My New Addiction!

Pink shades have always been my comfort zone when it comes to lipsticks. When Migs asked me if I wanted a MAC lipstick from Macy's, I told him that I want the "Impassioned" shade, but if it's not available I'll just settle for "Rebel".

This particular shade made me curious for years. It's really intimidating in the tube, but a lot of bloggers were raving about it. This MAC lipstick has become one of the all-time favorites. To surprise me, Migs decided to get both lipsticks in Impassioned and Rebel. He also gave me a full-size of D and G Light Blue perfume. He's just the best! Thank you Cupcake! :) When he sent me the picture of this tube via Viber, I got really giddy and excited. It was my very first Plum shade from the brand, and I don't know if it will suit me. This was also my first-time to have a lipstick that I didn't have the chance to swatch myself, exciting!

Fast-forward to the day that I finally got my pasalubong-- I surprised myself when I fell in love with this shade the first time I wore it. Definitely love-at-first-swatch! It is currently my addiction and I've been wearing it almost everyday since. I even forgot about the MAC Impassioned, which is currently being ignored in my stash right now. This was supposed to be my second choice. Right?

MAC Lipstick in Vegas Volt Amplified Creme Review

My Ninang Lisa sent me another lipstick after reading my MAC Brave Red review. Thank you again Ninang Lisa! :) I was so excited when I learned that it's the "Vegas Volt" shade since it's on my MAC lipstick wishlist along with "Watch Me Simmer" and "Party Parrot". Seriously MAC, why can't you place those shades on the permanent list? I've been looking for those since 2012. Anyway, I am so happy to have another Amplified Creme formulation in my stash along with my overused "Chatterbox" and my new love "Impassioned". Amplified Creme is still my favorite formulation because it's really creamy and easy to apply.

SWATCHED: MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick in Vegas Volt
The packaging of this lipstick is still MAC's classic bullet-shaped tube. The scent is still Vanilla which is rather stronger in Amplified Cremes. I can describe the shade as a light coral with a hint of orange. Unfortunately, this kind of shade is particularly advisable for women with warm skin tone (people with green-ish veins on their wrist like me!). My sister laughed on my face when I first wore it days after my hiking and camping trip because I was two or three shades darker. She said I looked like Nicki Minaj with a pigmented face and a bright lipstick.

MAC Lipstick in Brave Red

My cousin from Canada came home two weeks ago for vacation. His mom sent me this red MAC lipstick through him. Thanks for the thoughtful gift Ninang Lisa! :) This is my first red lipstick from the brand since I always go for the safest colors whenever I purchase one because of the hefty price. I cannot risk an unflattering color for 1,000 pesos you know. This is the first Cremesheen formulation that I've tried as well. I've read about it online but I still went for the mattes and the amplified formulation since I doubted the longevity of the Cremesheens.

I honestly haven't heard of this specific red shade from MAC. I don't think it was ever available here in the Philippines because I can't search any review for it here. When it comes to red MAC lipsticks, the trending ones are Russian Red and Ruby Woo.

The packaging is printed in Canada, notice the font of the sticker underneath. It's because MAC Canada recycles lipstick tubes. My aunt is asking for empty MAC tubes from us because they can exchange five empty tubes for a new MAC lipstick of your choice. How awesome! I wish they'd do that here too.

Outfit Post: When in doubt, wear an LBD!

Once again, it's our company's annual Christmas Party and the theme was "Cosmic 80's".
I didn't really follow the theme because: #1 I have no idea what it mean exactly or how it should look like AND how I'd look like; #2 I don't want to purchase clothes that can only be worn once because that's very impractical; #3 I don't know any other occasion when I can wear this dress that Persunmall sent me. So I just followed the fashion rule: "When in doubt, wear an LBD!"

Persunmall Dress | Korean Rose Bag | S and H Shoes

Products Used:
Face: Garnier Light Complete Lightening Cream
The Face Shop Power Perfection BB Cream + MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation
Cheeks: Majolica Majorca Cream De Cheek + ELF Contouring Powder
Brows: In2it Waterproof Brow Powder
Lips: NYX Matte Lip Cream in Tokyo + MAC Matte Lipstick in Please Me

On Migs: Armhand Remojo Suit | Hugo Boss Orange Watch

I took the opportunity to flaunt my insecurities such as my forehead and bowlegs. It felt so good to have the confidence to shine! You see, you don't have to keep yourself from wearing the clothes you like just to hide your insecurities. Flaunt those legs and forehead that you've been hiding for years because what's important is that you're confident in what you're wearing and that you're having fun. :)

MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation

Mac Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation is one of the most reviewed and raved product. It has been on my list for more than two years and I wasn't purchasing it because of mixed reviews and the hefty price. But I know that this curiosity must end. So I purchased without any second thought. Is it worth it?

MAC Matte Lipstick in Please Me

I recently blogged about my haul which included Mac Matte Lipstick in Please Me. I mentioned that it has been on my list for quite some time and was still deciding if I should purchase it. It's because I have a slightly similar shade which is Mac Chatterbox. But since I abused Chatterbox and used it almost everyday, I now have no excuse not to buy and try this one out. Mac Please Me is described as a mid-tone warm pink with yellowish undertones. Blue and Yellow undertones best complements my fair skin tone.

Instagrammable Eats: Vanilla Cupcake Bakery

Today, my plan didn't go as expected so I decided to take advantage of where I am and went to Glorietta since I'm not that familiar with this location. I took advantage of the opportunity to explore! So I decided to do some shopping since we already received our 13th month pay. YAY! After shopping, we got curious about this cupcake place called "Vanilla Cupcake Bakery". This bakery will soon have a branch at UP AyalaLand Technohub as well (it's where our office is located).

Upon entering the store, these yummy cupcakes will make you salivate. They have a wide range of variety from red velvet cupcakes, chocolate cupcakes and even salted caramel. The best thing for me about this store is that it's very cozy and the interior is so cute and girly! The wallpapers and chandeliers are very colorful. They even have frames hanging on the wall with thoughtful mottos on them.

Overall, I find this place very #instagrammable. From the interior, food, utensils, to take-out boxes, everything is just so photogenic. Their cupcakes are okay, maybe I can rate it next to Cupcakes by Sonja. I thoroughly enjoyed their Chocolate drinks though. We will come back to try their other food soon.

Mac Matte Lipstick in Ablaze

Mac Lipstick in Ablaze
Mac Lipstick in Ablaze

I have always been a fan of unique but wearable shades. Whenever I'm looking for a lipstick I always consider that it must be something that I've never seen before and not easily dupable. While I was browsing through Carefree (an online shop that I trust) I noticed that they still have this limited edition Mac Fashion Sets 2013 Matte Lipsticks collection and remembered that I once fell in love with this Watch Me Simmer-like shade called "Ablaze". Luckily, they still have some stock! Yayy! So here it is..

Mac Swell Baby Eyeshadow

I've been looking for an eyeshadow shade for smokey eye that is safe to wear in the office on day time. Dark once like bareMinerals in VIP is exclusively for night-outs and parties. I don't want to go to the office looking like I just got out from a club, if you know what I mean. Luckily, I saw a blog sale a couple of weeks ago by Ms. Hollie of Random Beauty by Hollie. Mac Swell Baby in sample size was included on her sale which is really lucky because it was a limited edition shade for Mac Surf Baby Collection last 2011. I instantly bought the item without thinking twice because from what I've seen from the swatches online, it will be the perfect safe shade that I'm looking for. Take a look!

I was right! What a great shade! I am so in love with it. It's something you can wear everyday without feeling guilty and thinking twice before stepping out of your front door. You can never go wrong with this one. It's in the neutral side of shades that is not too much but at the same time not boring. If you ever saw it online or anywhere else, go buy it! It's a great buy!

Random Thoughts: Face of the Day + My Weekend in Photos

So here's how my weekend went:

My Birthday Look: Mac Chatterbox and husband's birthday gift

My current everyday choices of cosmetics and I'm contemplating what more to add since It'll be another year of vanity for me. Hmm.. Any suggestion?

MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick in Chatterbox

I already made a couple of posts that is related to this lippie. I first used it last year to attend my Hollywood-themed Christmas PartyThen I used the swatch to compare it with Maybelline Angel Rose.

So for the swatches and my picture wearing it, just view those mentioned posts. Anyway, I just want you guys to have a closer look of the product. It complements every complexion. It is very creamy but it lasts long. My most favorite thing about it is the pigmentation. I really really love how it's easy to apply and how a little goes a long way. To anyone who's planning to buy it, just go for it! I know it's a hefty Php 1,000 here but believe me it is worth every peso.

2017 Update
I kept on repurchasing this lipstick and I'm already on my third tube. Sadly, MAC lipsticks costs Php 1,250 now :(

So, about Mac Chatterbox it's obviously perfect!
It looks simple yet elegant when you wear it specially when wearing a chic gown.. I love it! I just can't afford wearing it everyday because MAC products are really expensive, but they're worth it though. I'll just post a detailed review about it.

Here's my full outfit that night:

Gorgeous pink salmon gown it is!
It makes me feel sooo sexy! Ha! Every woman should wear a pretty gown once in a while and get that great feeling of being complimented by a lot of people..
Every woman deserves THAT feeling!

OHHH! Did I mention that I was chosen to compete for the "Red Carpet Icon" Award? Haha. That is my nervous smile. Good thing I did not trip.

That's it! I had a blast.. Hope y'all enjoyed your Christmas parties!!

Merry Christmas!!!! Spread love..
